guess what, guys?
i did it!! my first crochet blanket is done!
its cosy and musashi thinks its his! but im done!!! *jiggley dances around the home* i'd totally invite y'all to touch it cos its sooooooo soft.. but you'd have to take my word for it! :)
but i have a dirty little secret...
i started out hoping to make a queen size blanket. but it got soooo massive and heavy, i changed my plans and made it for a single sized bed instead.
since i announced the start of this project, a few of my blog readers and friends have also started on this same blanket! im so glad to inspire you & you can do it!!! i'd love to see your end result!!
thanks for cheering me on, loves.
this must be one of my biggest (and longest) projects!! and the husband is so tired of seeing me lug my blanket everywhere. i can only imagine how sexy it is to sleep with a crochet granny! but
now, i can now i can add "double crochet in my sleep" to my list of talents.. :)
xx
Looks absolutely beautiful!! Great job babe! =)
ReplyDeleteMuu makes it look all so comfy and cosy!
=)
muu's a good model! he is obsessed with the blanket though. he'd climb up the sofa so he can cuddle with it!
Deletei guess its a good sign!
OMG! Good job babe! and its so nicely done!!!
ReplyDeleteSo fast too...
i felt like it too FOREVER!!! :) crochet is so much slower than sewing!
DeleteLove it! And it's absolutely adorable on Muu. I love that cute floppy bunny you have on the bed too.
ReplyDeletesomeone just told me that the bunny is called "jellycat" and very popular with kiddos!
DeleteOh I've seen jellycat plush toys. Will have to take a closer look at them next time!
Deleteyes yes! they are super plush!! im tempted to buy one for myself! :)
Deletewow!!! yay!!! well done zhingy!!!! i love the colors too! it IS a massive project!!!
ReplyDeleteyayy!!! glad you like it! yeah! it took longer than expected!!
DeleteYour blanket looks fab, especially in those cozy colours! Thanks for the link to the Purl Bee pattern, I've bookmarked it (although am still yet to learn how to crochet lol!)
ReplyDeleteyayy! im glad you liked it! purl bee is chockful of awesome craft idea! do share if you make anything! i love to see homemade craftiness!!
Deletei will definitely do! :) did you take a class to learn or did you teach yourself? I'm debating whether to take a class or youtube and wing it haha!
Deletei learnt it from a friend and youtube!! so i'll vote for the latter!
DeleteYAY!! congrats!!! it looks fabulous and so cozy! Mookie still thinks it's her scarf... she'll have to make her neck a little fatter now. hahahah good job, zhing!
ReplyDeletehahaha!!! silly mookie! maybe one day i can make little shoes for them!! :)
Deletexx
Congratulations! The blanket is lovely. Yes, I believe you--it must be soft and warm, cause your doggy also loves it :)
ReplyDeletehe's got really peculiar human tastes in clothes and fabric. he likes softer cozier threads!! funny one, our dog!
DeleteI can understand the "pain", I did one scarf for my husband and I wanted to give up many times. But because it was for him, i didn't lol.
ReplyDeleteIt's really beautiful, good job! =)
awwwww the love! :) im going to try making other stuff now that my machine is gone..
Deletemaybe a little mouse to replace the one you lovingly made for muu (which he TORE apart but loved so dearly!)
xx
Good job! :3 It looks so warm and comfy and soft, and Muu looks just at home in it! I don't think you're getting it back. LOL
ReplyDeleteits a losing battle. and as much as i love him, having him in my personal space is not the comfiest!!
DeleteIt's so pretty! And it must be really soft if Muu loves it so much. :)
ReplyDeleteYou really should consider selling all your handmade stuff!
hahaha! i did think about that once but its more fun to make things for people i love!!
DeleteCongratulations, love! I can imagine your joy!
ReplyDeleteOh my, moving on to the next big project? :D
sooooo happy! moving on the next few little projects. lesson learnt. this took FOREVER!!!
DeleteWow, congrats! You're fast!!
ReplyDeleteI am still struggling... and getting distracted by other projects. Haha!
