it's pool time!

when it came to looking for a place in perth, i knew that the ultimate must-have was a swimming pool. indoor heated pool at that!!

because this sugar dumpling needs to clock his swimtime!!

so grandpa came over one morning for a splash around with blake. this is one of those circle of life moments... dad always wanted a water baby and this little munchkin wants someone to play with in the water all morning. win-win situation! they paddled. they blew bubbles. they dunked him in the water and they raced.. it was very sweet to see them bonding! and even though at this age, it doesn't matter, it made me proud when dad declared that babyboy has a good kick.
(as if a doting granddad would say anything bad about his only grandkid, right?)

"wahaha!! my very own swim buddy!
thanks ma. you're excused."

in cities, we used to go straight for boutique hotels. usually the ones with quirky decor or has a library that flips into a bar at night.. and when we're visiting beach-y places, we usually go for nice beautiful villas that we won't even need to step foot out of!! but the most basic prerequisite for places we stay in... must have white sheets. im a weirdo like that! :)

im curious to find out...
what kind of features do you look for in hotels?

  1. clean toilets! and a clean bed!! I've never actually stayed in a hotel that didn't have a clean bed but I've been in some pretty revolting toilet situations :P that toilet also had a shower head with water running in circles AROUND the head.

so if you and Daniel were to move back to Oz, would it be Perth or Melb? :) (*quietly chants* "Perth-Perth-Perth")

    1. yes cleanliness!! we once booked a chalet last minute (should've know when accomodation is called chalet!!) which had the most bleahhhh bathroom! it had mozzies and we nearly died feeding them!! good thing we were so in love we didn't notice! if it were now, i'd chew daniel's head off!

lol at the running circles around your head! :)

if we did.. i'd vote for perth! oh.. but we have family and friends in melb. ahhh.. so hard!! but you know its like one of those "if you had a million dollars.. what would you do??" kinda questions right?

  2. When we travel, I always look for hotels with bathtubs (so the kids can play in it)! It's a bit strange to call/email the hotel and ask, 'Erm, do your hotel rooms have a bathtub?'

    1. took a page from your book and called up our hotel to check on the bathtub!!

funny thing is.. we never fill the tub and soak at home but on vacation, we do that all the time!!! wonder why....

  3. First, OH MY GAH. That baby's cheeks! He is SO CUTE!

Hotels... I don't look for anything in particular. I used to like the ones that have a good breakfast, but now that everything's gotta be gluten free it's not really a factor anymore.

P.S. I prefer that my bedsheets are white, even at home.

  4. Depending on the location, if it was a city where we are going to be exploring, definitely somewhere near public transport like the tube or subway. If not, boutique hotels are a preferred choice.

But regardless of location, clean bathrooms and clean sheets, general cleanliness of the hotel is VERY impt!

  5. I like my fancy, luxurious 5 star hotels in convenient locations when in a city. Has to be modern and relatively new though, or at least recently renovated. For beach holidays definitely a villa with private pool. I know, I'm totally spoilt! :p

  6. With me being a person who ABSOLUTELY LOVES SWIMMING too, looking at you letting Blake having swims just makes me sit here in a puddle of melted mess from the cuteness!

And on this particular post I just so happened to remember about a video I saw on Facebook (couldn't locate it anymore D:) about this Infant Swimming Resource http://www.infantswim.com/

So just wondering if you know about it/would like to know about these kind of things :)
