craft :: oliver + s playsuit

i knew i had to start my crafting adventures on the new machine with a bang. there is absolutely no other way to beginning of a (hopefully) very productive relationship...

so we made one of this for blake!

i've been lemming after a romper/playsuit for blake for a while. but somehow, i kept picking ones that are too feminine or frilly!! so i decided that i'd make one from oliver + s for him! the pattern and instructions were so clear and easy to follow! im ambitiously eyeing peacoats and backpacks now!

i spent a lovely afternoon with my mummy while the baby napped sewing away on the machine! not many more things can match up to an afternoon like that!

familiar fabric? i've used it here, here and thebokeeffect's one here.
but bad news is, this is the last of it.. and im a little sad because i don't think i can find it again!!
*dramatic tear*

my favorite bit of the project, the cutie underlining! check out mr grumpy cat peeking out from the shoulders!

and here's little blakieboo modelling our little outfit. he's such a good sport!
the pattern has sizes up to 24 months so im sure you'll see him in many more variations of this playsuit in future!!

have you guys purchased fabric online?
 if so, whats a good place to get started?

xx

  1. It's adorable!!! I am gonna make one for Ry too!

    PS. It costs too much to ship fabric from overseas so I try to find local suppliers. I buy my stash from Laughinghouse (on Etsy) or Needle and Thread. Google them!

    1. hehe! :) he helped make the outfit cuter! thanks for your compliments! my mum helped me clean up the messy bits and she's a much better sewist than me!

      start with littler projects! my projects only involve straight lines.. one day i'll graduate to button holes and zigzag! :)

  7. Blake looks so cute in it and your fabric is gorgeous! The website you posted has been really helpful for me. I've been wanting to make a quilt (probably too ambitious) but don't know where or how to start! Maybe the cape ann quilt if it's not too difficult! :)
