{five} things :: the baby edition

here are five little things we have in our nursery
in preparation for our new little bubsie..

we decided a more gender neutral palette of greys and yellow.
its work in progress because we wanted to meet him/her before we added more pieces in..

but we started with the must-haves - a hand-stitched quilt by my mom...

adorable plush toys handmade by auntie judy..
(and a cute little bumper by mom)

bunnybuns from anthro

hand made mobile (tutorial here)
i don't trust my sewing so i don't want it collapsing on the bubs head mid-nap.
so maybe over the rocker?

wall-art from auntie jen (and maybe if i can sneak some pomanders in? in grey and white?)
... with pending approval from papa.
he's not sure about hanging art over the crib.
i really like how it looks but not sure how i'd feel if the metal ampersand came crashing on the child's head.

ah.. our baby's skull vs my cute design vision..
its a tough fight.

  2. The weather balloons are absolutely darling! All that grey/white/yellow and the frilly pomanders are so you :)

PS. I am very paranoid about hanging things near the baby's cot too! Probably best to hang them somewhere safer ;)

    1. heeheee! :) im glad im not the only one! when i told the husband i decided not to hang the mobile above the cot, he gave the most perplexed look!!

i guess the practical brain of his didn't get why i'd hand-make something before deciding that it was a potential baby hazard!
