due date

today is blake's expected due date. i've walked around with him tucked snugly in my tummy for nine month with this date etched in mind.
but we received him two weeks earlier ..

and boy has it been a humbling journey thus far!

hello cheeks!

these past two weeks have been as amazing as it has been exhausting. we've been surrounded by nothing much other than his adorable babyness, his little grunts he makes, we sit around marveling at how adorable his little toes are when they curl up in delight but we've had our testy hair-pulling moments.

i remember coming out from an awesome massage to the husband, looking completely desperate with the petrified dog in one arm and a sobbing baby in the other. and all my boys wanted was me (or my boob). instantly, the satisfaction of a delicious massage turned into this deep guilt as i snapped into mommy mode and cuddled each one of them.

but we're learning, and fighting to find a good balance between us as we remember and our new roles as parents to this little munchkin. but i wouldn't trade it for the world.

thank you, little boy, for choosing me as your momma and my darling, who i love more every single day, fatherhood looks hot on you! :)

xx

  1. What a sweet heartfelt post :) I remember the first few weeks after the baby was born passing by in a big blurry haze. There were so many things going on all at the same time (body recovering from childbirth, getting to know a new baby, doc visits, guests, planning for one-month party, getting used to nursing, night wakings, trying to find clothes that fit haha). It gets better, promise!

You guys are doing (and looking) great. Just rest when baby is sleeping and enjoy the sweet newborn days with the family :)

Oh, and take more pics and videos - you will be amazed by how much baby will grow and change!

    1. Im holding you to it!! I can't wait till they're at the playing stage where i don't worry every second if they're still breathing!!!

It does feel like our whole lives is turned upside down to accomodate this little guy! there are nights we sit when he has fallen asleep holding muumuu and wondering what we've gotten ourselves into! :)

    1. He is still full term! i guess just slightly early!

It is crazzzy to be surround by so many boys! And this one being the loudest and most demanding! Im used to more sweet-natured quiet boys! :) hopefully he'll pick up a few tips from his brother and dad!
