i recently purchased my first ever lipstick. epic i know! :) but i've always been more of a lip balm kinda girl... but thanks to A, i've been wearing it and without fail, it always makes me feel more chic and proper... like a lady should.
who knew that a lipstick would make me feel this way!
im not the most mature person (i still believe in kissing boo-boos better & painstakingly sort m&ms by color because i can not possibly eat green or yellow. or blue.)
but here are some life-defining "grown up" moments in my life.
1 - when i woke up after spending nights crying over my silly first boyfriend and it didn't hurt anymore thinking of him. (and every other failed relationship that followed.. sigh)
2 - when i got my first "bonus" from work and took the entire family out for dinner.
3 - when i signed my first credit card bill - icecream with extra sprinkles for my dad & me! :)
4 - when i swung by in my first car to pick up my girlfriends to college.
(it took 1 hour longer than it would usually cos i drove soooo slowly. lol)
5 - when i received my first blue box.
6 - when daniel added me to his insurance as his "fiancee"
(prior to that, ring and all, it didn't feel quite as real as paperwork.)
7 - when i lay on my doctors bed and heard our baby's first heartbeat.
oh they make me smile thinking of them...
what are your "grown up" moments?
xx
I don own a lipstick as well! I'm more of a lip gloss kind of girl. Haha. I've also wanted to get one, but am fearful that it will make my lips look swollen. Haha
ReplyDeleteI totally get your grown up moments! Haha
try the chanel collection! its matt so not too glossy plump looking! i've tried some scarily swollen looking ones! lol :)

I love your list of "grown-up" moments! This post was so adorable. I think when my boyfriend told me "I want you to be my wife" and I openly admitted "I would marry you." Or maybe even on our first date when I was finally myself and told him pretty much EVERYTHING (like they advise you not to.)
ReplyDeleteOr when I got my first payment from a writing job. Ahh so many! I'm going to need to do a post just like this - you inspired me :)
awwwwww thats so sweet!! :) was that your proposal? or did he just announce that he wanted you to be his wife!! ahhh!!

ReplyDeleteMy grown up moments-
1) Moving in with T, and living away from my parents and doing everything on my own.
2) My first work trip overseas.
3) My first paycheck when I interned before college/uni.
4) Buying my apartment. That really made me grow up the most. Mortgage, cheques, house stuff and all the nitty gritties.
awwww... all so monumental! :) (4) is soooo exciting!!!

My most grown up moment was not dissolving into tears and screaming and shouting when my daughter left home for university. I smiled and kissed her and wished her luck, but I wanted to hold on to her and never let go! Happily this day is a long way off for you LOL!
ReplyDeleteHope to see a pick of you modelling the lipstick - very pretty :) xxx
awwww that must be SOOOOO hard!!! *hugs* i don't think i can even survive kindy! you should have seen me when we sent muu off on the flight. all daniel could say was... "its only 6 hours, darling!" while he handed me tissues and rubbed my back!
