about bunnybuns

a few of you have commented on our little rabbit stuffed toy who has made appearances in some photoshoots. truth is, we use her mostly as a prop to test the lighting before we plop musashi in place.

but bunnybuns has a little story that's kinda sweet..
and oh. she doesn't belong to us!

a few years ago, before we were married... we were shopping in new york. naturally one of the must-visits for me was anthropologie. i must have spent HOURS!! cos daniel covered the apple store, all the sports store in the area and ended up shopping in anthro with me. when i had my shopping basket filled, i spotted him holding bunnybuns. and with raised brows, i threw him a "are you kidding me".

he told me that bunnybuns was found in the returns section. i pointed out that she got returned cos her face is a little messed up. (lol. just keeping things real.) defensively, he said that's what makes her special. and she was rejected. and still soft and fuzzy. i raised my brows again and informed him that i grew out of stuffed fuzzies twenty years ago. then there was some negotiation and some tears (i might edit this bit out later if he's embarrassed) but long story short, we added bunny to our shopping cart. but its wasn't for me. he was buying it for our (future) daughter, kate.

so bunny has been with us for 4 years now... still looking a little asymmetrical in the face but she's kinda growing on me. we try to keep her dust-free and thankfully musashi doesn't fancy bunnybuns much.

im secretly glad he insisted.
cos it kinda makes me smile when we call her "kate's bunny".

xx

  3. That is such a cute and sweet story. And I bought the same bunny! We were looking around for a bunny with long floppy ears (so the lil one can drag it around by the ears) and the jellycat one was the softest and cuddliest!
