more about the dog...

so its public knowledge that we treat musashi like our child.
what can i say, he really is a baby.

yesterday, i was awake in the wee hours of dawn, having a snack and working on the computer. he wandered out of the bedroom to come hang out with me. so i sat him down and told him sternly, "muu-beans, its still early. and papi is going to need company in bed. so why don't you be a good boy and go rest your eyes a little bit more." i patted his butt encouragingly towards the bedroom. he snuck back into bed quietly.

a few minutes later, i heard his little feet running around again. "very well, zhing. you just spoke to your dog. he's a dog after all, y'know?". then at the corner of my eye, i see muu standing at the bedroom door, making eye contact with me and then intentionally going back in. i snuck a peek in and he was lying right under his papi's hands, wide awake but lying really still. turns out he really needed to take a tinkle!!

but he lay there still as a church mouse until daniel woke up a few hours later!!
naturally, he got a few extra cuddles and the biggest breakfast ever!

oh muu... you make us such proud parents!!
you're gonna do great in harvard law school! :)

  2. Your dog is so cute! We had a Maltese named Jake and he just recently died. He was only 4 yrs old and we miss him terribly. They are such loving dogs. Your pup looks exactly like Jake when he lays down and looks at you with those big eyes. I check your blog every day hoping to see a new picture of Musashi. I love the clothes you make for him too!

    Here's a pic of my Jake . . .

  3. Dogs to me are like humans! They totally understand what we say. Fur Rug knows when I tell her what to do and what not to do. In fact, when my dad was traveling, we once saw her crying (tears falling out!) Cos she probably missed him. Whenever he's away, my mom would tell her that he's not coming home as he's away and she'll then stop waiting by the door.
Muu's so bright hehe and I know it first hand! He always understood what I say. When you guys weren't around, T and I were always talking to him. Arw miss that lil one.

  5. So sweet! =)
They totally understand what we say! We were getting ready to head out once and I told Rusty to go hurry his papa as it was getting late. The little one run out to the living room and started barking at the husband to speed things up! Hilarious because our Rusty hardly ever barks and certainly never at anyone of us at home.
