crafts:: my first craft party

i always wonder when im sewing quietly at home...
"how fun it would be if i were surrounded by some people who were equally crazy about sewing."
but im not one to sit back and wait for dreams to happen.
so when i had guests in town, guess what i did! :)

i made a craft circle out of them! and boy were they great buddies!

they went fabric shopping in the boondocks, fought over choice of fabric (which i must admit was pretty cute for beginners!!) carted fabric home in luggage bags, they cut and sewed up a storm!! it was great sharing something that i feel so excited about and seeing them make such amazing things all in the span of a few days was gold!

check out their work (and their experience) just using eight fat quarters...

it was so fun having company as we trip over each other's crafting corners, take turns on the machine & unpicker (not that we used it that often.. haha!) at the end of the day, they had some handmade goodies to bring back to their loft!

i had a tonne of fun, guys! shall we do it again soon!?

xx

  12. wanted to ask you! J and I are looking for a sewing machine, any tips? we tried looking online for "tips on how to buy your first sewing machine..." and that's about as far as we got. thinking of taking an excursion at lunch to visit golden dragon at chinatown to see what the aunties are using.. :)

    im not an expert in that area cos i only just bought my first last year. i use a brother machine, basic (ie cheapest) model. its electronic and doesn't have a foot pedal!!

    my mum thinks that singer brand machines are better. but both brands are great with beginner level machines. you can even purchase them in courts for $150!!

    when im better at sewing im going to invest in a proper grown up one! :)
