so my collection of pretty fabric grew and ate up one of daniel's shelves. and the poor man only had a few to start with...
the problem with fabric is, you don't always buy what you need it, you end up buying more cos "oh-its-soooo-cute-im-sure-i-will-make-something-with-it-soon" or "i-think-xxx-will-look-good-in-a-dress-made-from-this". so instead of letting them sit for eternity, i've recently thought of new ideas of how to use them! :)
in japan, they call this furoshiki.
using fabric, you can make bags, wrap bento boxes, gift-wrap.. the options are endless!
this bag is great to throw in a hankie, cellphone and wallet for a quick errand.
its pretty roomy inside actually!!
and here's how::
i started with a 50 x 50 cm silk hankie...
the typical furoshiki size ranges from 45 cm - 230 cm.
fold a triangle with the right side facing each other.
knot both ends.
turn it right side out..
tie a cute little double-knot.
and you're done! :)
if you're out shopping and need an extra carrier pronto, this would be a great way to make one on the go. enjoy your bag!!
xx
