usa 2010: my power poofs!

through the wedding, i've been experimenting with a lot of tulle and crafting a lot of poofs. when i make one thats too cute to be just a backdrop, i pick it out of the pile and attach it to a length of ribbon or hair barrette. so now, i have a whole extensive collection of poofy hair accessories! maybe i should do something with them!!

this trip, i've planned my entire wardrobe around this one single multi-tasking poof!! works as a corsage, hairpiece, hairband and belt!! it travels extremely well, all you need is a quick fluff and viola! revived back to life! at the wedding, i wore it in a low messy bun to the side.

my sweet daddy got me a whole bunch of cheongsam one birthday from shanghai. he wasn't too sure what style or colour i like so he got a whole stack!! this is one of my favorites! :)

a little shapey but not toooo clingy. it doesn't have a boning so i need to remember to stand real straight, no slouchies and sticking out of tummy!! case in point, see below!

with my newly acquired chloe laced-up stilettos!! it reminds me of black-tie but yet a little cheeky with the peekaboo tip!!

me and bosslady are gonna hang out at dang's later this morning! and communally say bye to my little white dress. you'll be dearly missed.

  1. Hee, my eyes zoomed in straight onto the footwear when I saw the last pic! Ironically, I wore my Chloe flats today which I tripped and nearly fell flat on my face in and it has scratches all over the right side now. :(

  3. I know. I'm clumsy like that. :( Eyes were on BB and completely didn't see a step. Haha, I have scratches on the right side of the Chloe flats, not my leg! But I can feel the pain still. :(
I like how you match the ferosh looking heels with something so feminine!

  8. Nice piece babe. I never quite know how to chose nice cheong sams. Got mine from Shanghai as well but think i should have gone for one with a bigger detail instead like yours.
Love your poofs. Add bling to them and sell on etsy at inflated prices :)

  9. hahahaha that's hilarious!! :)
i tried wearing for work.. cos they are aptly formal but still sleeveless and cool. but slit and climbing up tall ladders, not a good idea!!

  17. i think its the older gen; my grandma loves us girls in cheongsams and dresses in hues of reds and pinks and oranges! more feminine she says! so we always indulge her during CNY and whenever we pop by to visit her! :)

  18. hahah!!! :) i can't help but feel a little older when i wear a cheongsam too!!
next time if i have a little girl i'll put her in cheongsam all the time! :) get used to it when they're little!

  20. oh joan! you're too humble!!! :) you're got great style too! :)
and obviously on a regular day, i don't look like that!!! heels and cheongsam don't fare well with everyday errands and working lady needs!!!
