this trip, i've planned my entire wardrobe around this one single multi-tasking poof!! works as a corsage, hairpiece, hairband and belt!! it travels extremely well, all you need is a quick fluff and viola! revived back to life! at the wedding, i wore it in a low messy bun to the side.
my sweet daddy got me a whole bunch of cheongsam one birthday from shanghai. he wasn't too sure what style or colour i like so he got a whole stack!! this is one of my favorites! :)
a little shapey but not toooo clingy. it doesn't have a boning so i need to remember to stand real straight, no slouchies and sticking out of tummy!! case in point, see below!
with my newly acquired chloe laced-up stilettos!! it reminds me of black-tie but yet a little cheeky with the peekaboo tip!!
me and bosslady are gonna hang out at dang's later this morning! and communally say bye to my little white dress. you'll be dearly missed.
Hee, my eyes zoomed in straight onto the footwear when I saw the last pic! Ironically, I wore my Chloe flats today which I tripped and nearly fell flat on my face in and it has scratches all over the right side now. :(
ReplyDeleteaiyarrrr why like that!!!!! but they're flats!! poor girl!! slather on vitamin c!!! (when it stops hurting!!)
ReplyDeleteteehee.. i always always look at footwear first in any picture! :)
I know. I'm clumsy like that. :( Eyes were on BB and completely didn't see a step. Haha, I have scratches on the right side of the Chloe flats, not my leg! But I can feel the pain still. :(
ReplyDeleteI like how you match the ferosh looking heels with something so feminine!
cheeyyyyyy i thought you have scratched on your FACE!!! :) :) scratches on shoe also painful but at least you won't look so sad for the rest of your day with a scratched up face!!
ReplyDeleteyou look awesome in that cheongsam babe! i totally ♥ cheongsams! :)
ReplyDeletei went through a cheongsam craze a while back! now my wardrobe has cheongsams of all colours!
ReplyDeletegreat for weddings and even some semi-formal events! but hard to wear for work!!!
good to have an assortment of cheongsams! im working up my collection! :D
ReplyDeletenah you cant wear cheonsams for work unless you are a tea lady working at a tea house?!
Nice piece babe. I never quite know how to chose nice cheong sams. Got mine from Shanghai as well but think i should have gone for one with a bigger detail instead like yours.
ReplyDeleteLove your poofs. Add bling to them and sell on etsy at inflated prices :)
hahahaha that's hilarious!! :)
ReplyDeletei tried wearing for work.. cos they are aptly formal but still sleeveless and cool. but slit and climbing up tall ladders, not a good idea!!
my dad picked up a whole bunch of goodies!!! this is one of the more traditional silk ones with full on embroidery!! but if it were up to me, i usually pick more modern cuts or fabric!
ReplyDeleteyou can check out tongtong friendship store! all very cute!!!
good idea!!! maybe i will get to it in japan!! xx
ooh definitely not!!
ReplyDeletedo a show entry of your cheongsams! are you bringing them to japan?
yeah!! my cheongsams and my shoes go wherever i go too! :) even if i have to hand carry!!
ReplyDeletehahah! shy! i'll have a think about it and trickle in some entries here and here!
Be sure to tell us the link to your etsy stall when u get it up!
ReplyDeletewahhh!!! i get support before my store is open! so love!!!
ReplyDeletethanks so much babeee...
do post more! i love seeing friends in cheongsams as its lovely seeing all the curves! =)
ReplyDeletei might sneak in a trip to shanghai next year! lemme know if youve got recommendations to get nice cheongsams! :D
my granaunt is hilarious! she is adamant that girls should always wear cheongsam. she was so pleased that i wore a cheongsam that she grabbed my arse at my wedding. so funny!!!
ReplyDeleteshanghai.. i've not gotten any there before! My friend sillyfaery.livejournal.com used to stay there so i can ask her! :)
i think its the older gen; my grandma loves us girls in cheongsams and dresses in hues of reds and pinks and oranges! more feminine she says! so we always indulge her during CNY and whenever we pop by to visit her! :)
ReplyDeletehahah!!! :) i can't help but feel a little older when i wear a cheongsam too!!
ReplyDeletenext time if i have a little girl i'll put her in cheongsam all the time! :) get used to it when they're little!
You're so stylish. Wish I had 1% of your stylishness.
ReplyDeleteoh joan! you're too humble!!! :) you're got great style too! :)
ReplyDeleteand obviously on a regular day, i don't look like that!!! heels and cheongsam don't fare well with everyday errands and working lady needs!!!
