I believe in marriage...

but there is nothing happier than a happy marriage."

  1. Heh, I'm glad someone does, in this time and age of infidelity. But I guess it's true that Elizabeth Gilbert does inspire some hope in the cynical. ;) Gotta love Eat Pray Love as a girl's bible!
Have a blissful one, you! :)

  2. Is the book (Committed) any good?
I am not sure if I am a fan. I love the Italy bit but the rest of Eat Pray Love was just somewhat self-absorbed and cliched.

  4. im not sure.. i usually shy away from sequels and in this case, second books..
i enjoyed reading it as a story but it was not as life changing to me as it is to other women! *shrug* maybe you have to be at a certain point in your life for it to speak to you! :)

  5. sorry to hijack this thread but I am SO GLAD that there are folks out there who think that Eat Pray Love isn't as good as everyone raves about! My gf lent me her copy after she said how life changing it was for her - it did nothing for me and I agree that I thought it was very a self absorbed book. Tons of more inspirational stories out there.
As an aside, congrats on the move to Tokyo! Now you can tell me all about Xmas in Japan! Hehe... Is your husb still gonna be a lawyer there?

  7. haha yes please (to meet up before you leave)!
and as a caveat, I didn't worship Eat Pray Love, it just inspired a love for life all over again in the cynic in me ;) and yes I shyed away from the sequel of Committed too. She's quite a good speaker too, can catch her on ted.com. :)
