being silly bunnies..

two weeks ago, daniel hopped off a long haul flight happy to see his wife at the arrivel terminal. expected a hollywood kiss moment, he was disappointed when she pointed that he had OJ dribble down his chin. very unbecoming next to his serious businessman attire and clippety clack shoes.. to which he wailed (in an equally unbecoming manner) that "i used to be sooooo independant. look what you've done to me... "

i also grew up a very independant bub. my mum's favorite baby story is how i loved to sleep in my own room and little bed. from birth. there was one occasion i was running high fever so she bundled me up next to her in her room. but woke up to realize that her drugged out first-born dragged herself out of bed, found her way back to her pink room and climbed back into her babycot. and im also very proud of my one talent in life - i can fall asleep at the drop of the hat, anytime, anywhere. i've pictures of me sleeping on an assortment of luggage bags at JFK airport, i learnt the hard way that sleeping in your laundry basket during moving is not comfortable (especially when you're 24 years old) and any given day, i just need snuggle into my sleepy position and will be out in 5 mins flat. unfortunate when it happens in the middle of a work day of course..

but in daniel's absence, i've had 10 whole sleepless nights. i was not funny at all. i was just up, bouncy and awake! no new age music, no movie, no wedding website or long phone conversation could lull me to sleep. i was just up all night organizing things, running around the house snacking, working.. and i was so knackered from the late nights that the afternoon he came home, i slept 3 whole hours. and was in my pajammies by 8pm ready to sleep again. nothing says "welcome home!" more than a soundly asleep wife. but it was such a relief to have him back!!

oh well, we sound very much like losers with heavy eye bags, dribble down their chin and a chuckload of dependancy issues! we'll deal with it another day i guess!!

as for today, we're celebrating our anniversary!! so happy anniversary, my baby!! it has been the best time of my life!! and i think you're the bomb, dribble, quirky shoes and all that good stuff!! *muahh*

p.s. its totally romantic but as requested, im getting 144 STRAIGHT-SIDED votive holders (for our aussie wedding) as a present! weehee!!
