dins at dudleys

dear ole hal, who used to work with us in Kingsmill but opened his own fine dining restaurant in Toano! he is the funnest guy who always had a smile and compliments. he would always offer to take me on motorbike races on weekends with leather-clad harley die-hard fans. thought it was a very novel idea but 3 hours on a harley to see muddy bike races was not quite my idea of a dandy lady-like sunday afternoon activity..

dudleys was a fine little shophouse with a simple menu and a very down-to-earth smokehouse look from the outside. but inside was like a old lady cottage with wallpaper and beautiful art pieces. food was absolutely divine!

i had goat cheese biscuit with portabella mushrooms for starters and an awesome salad with pecan, apples, goatcheese, bacon and balcamic vinegrette with scampi scallops as a main meal. very yummy and having hal as our personal server was tremendous!!
